Modality Manager

Job Description Under the primary supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, this position is charged with supporting, establishing and enforcing protocol and work flow development for assigned radiology modality.  Employee will supplement their regular assigned imaging duties with additional responsibilities including assisting with modality staff education, quality assessment of modality protocols and imaging at all IHS sites, assisting with accreditation, and overall continuous quality improvement.  Must work closely with physician staff, and take on special projects as required.
Specific Duties
  • Primary daily responsibility will remain that of an imaging technologist (approximately 50% of time is expected to be devoted to standard duties of a technologist, with remainder of time available for the tasks listed below)

 

  • Demonstrates leadership in professional, courteous behavior, polite and respectful communication with all patients, co-workers and guests.  Adheres to adopted customer service expectations criteria.

 

  • Enforces all Federal, State and Company safety mandates and protocols including, as applicable, Section 17, ALARA, MRI Safety, Screening/contra-indicators and Code Drill protocols as examples.

 

  • Maintain a working knowledge of company’s imaging equipment, model capabilities and system platforms for assigned modality.

 

  • Acts as a resource for Imaging Center Clinical Supervisors with regard to assigned modality.  Provides them with feedback and guidance on performance review and technical evaluations for technologists.

Hours Generally Monday - Friday
Qualifications

Requires State and Federal certification and licensing in appointed imaging modality (CRT and ARRT).

Requires minimum of 1 year supervisory or lead responsibilities in high volume imaging environment.

Requires excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
